About
Lovely Little Animations was first founded in 2017 by Sophie Graves, creative director.

Sophie originally hails from the UK, growing up in the British countryside, before then moving to London after graduating from Norwich University of the Arts in 2012. There she resided until late 2017 building experience and a portfolio of work both in house and as a freelancer. It was this experience that built her adaptability to design and animate in varying styles and mediums, switching between them at the drop of a hat and even working in different tones and styles simultaneously across projects (an animation chameleon, if you will). In 2018 it was time to move again, this time a little further across the oceans to Australia's Sunshine Coast, QLD. It is here where she was based for the better part of 8 years, producing animated video content for clients across the planet. Utilising a variety of animation mediums including 2D digital, frame by frame, stop motion and mixed media, she combines traditional methods and materials with modern technologies, creating animated content which is unique and visually engaging. Sophie believes in matching the medium and style to suit each individual project, collaborating closely with every client to create something special.

Sophie has now transitioned to being more of a digital nomad, a travelling creator, as she left Queensland and drove solo around half of Australia (over 12,000km!) and then visiting family in New Zealand for a few months. Currently back in Australia for a couple of months to say her farewells and squeeze in a final adventure or two, and then? Stay tuned!

Music has had a prominent place in Sophie's life since a very young age, as she began playing the piano at 6 years old. Successfully completing her grade 6 practical piano exam, Sophie continues to play the piano as well as exploring other instruments as opportunities arise. It is this history and innate musicality which enables Sophie to have an excellent sense of timing and rhythm, meaning she understands the music both technically and creatively, resulting in videos which not only compliment the overall tone of the track, but effortlessly synchronise with the rhythm, melody and dynamics. Turning music into visual storytelling. This musical flare translates beyond music and lyric videos. Regardless of the industry, Sophie brings rhythm and synchronicity to every project. Sophie is also a multidisciplinary artist, owning her own art business Lovely Little Artist where she shares her own designs as prints and on products, as well as taking commissions for both portrait work and original art pieces.

Sophie continues to broaden her knowledge and skills in both the creative arts and beyond, now holding a BA HONS in Animation, Diploma of Graphic Design, Diploma of Project Management, and a Diploma of Arts Therapy. This extensive knowledge, experience and eager commitment to continued development makes her qualified to support you and your project from initial conception, through to final delivery, understanding the equal importance of both the bigger picture and the smallest details.
